Louie Shelton "BLUESLAND", Featuring Leon Russell, Boz Scaggs, Big John Toney, And Other C
Louie Shelton..BLUESLAND..with special guests; Boz Scaggs, Leon Russell and others.. The Legend that is Louie Shelton has a new Album out. It features his friends Boz Scaggs and Leon Russell. However rather than just recording with them alone, Louie has dragged in some of Australia's most talented Musicians to help him. Among them Peter Cupples, Damian Black, Doc Span, and Blues Harp Player, Graham Thompson. It's a great Album, and I'm eager to hear the final Master. New tracks have been added since I heard the first Version of The Album. Louie has spent almost 18 months on this Album gathering the right people for the Job. The creative mood is to follow the groove you're in, It always helps if those around you can fit into that groove as well. This is an International experience, combining some of Australia's best, with some world renowned Blues Legend's. An Opportunity that would have been almost impossible to achieve 10 years ago, without great expense and Travel. Isn't Technology wonderful!
This is an Album not to be Missed. If Louie thinks it's finally ready, IT'S READY!!! I say this because I've known of this Album for some time, and those involved, were excited to be involved! When the first edition came out it was such a tight package that some thought it ready for release. However, all have such respect for Louie that no one pushed. They knew Louie knows best.
I now believe there are extra Artists and Songs on it since I first heard it. From what I have heard it's incredible, from what I am about to experience it will be soulful. Louie's ability to get the best from people, and his abilities, both as a Producer and one of the world's greatest guitarist's assure that!

He began recording with Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gay, Gladys Knight and Stevie Wonder. Louie clearly recalls his first sessions with 'The Jackson Five' and how totally knocked out he was with Michael, who was only a little boy at the time.

In 1996 Louie returned to America, settling in Nashville. Because Nashville is the home of so many terrific guitarists, Louie came up with the unique idea of doing a CD wherein various top players could be showcased. To him it was important that the world be given the opportunity to hear how special people like Johnny Hiland, Jim Olander, Reggie Young, Ray Flacke and others truly are. The CD was called "Nashville Guitars" and was released through Louie's independent label, Nuance Records and distributed by WEA.
