The Ugly Session Band is the Core of Toowoomba’s Blues. The Session has been running for over a Decade now. It has inspired many of SE Queensland's Blues Musician's. During this time many Toowoomba Musician's have gained experience, and mentorship from some of Australia's most Professional Blues Musician's. NOW THEY HIT BLUES ON BROADBEACH!!! Musician's Such as Louie Shelton, Tim Gaze, Owen Campbell, Tim Griffin, Dale Robbins, Damian Black, Angela Fabian, and many more. The first Sunday of each month is Toowoomba's biggest music day.
The Band is fronted by Graham Thompson / Vocals and Harmonica. Graham most recently recorded Harmonica with Louie Shelton, one of the world’s most recorded Guitar players. Louie is renown for mentoring Australian Musician's himself since moving from America. He is also a Rock and Roll Music Hall of Famer. Most definitely one of the world's finest guitarists, he wrote 'Hello' for "Lionel Ritchie".
Ugly Session Band - Live in Chapel - Let's Work Together
Louie chose Graham to play Harmonica with himself and Leon Russell in a masterpiece of a song. Other's included on the CD is another Toowoomba Musician, Damian Black, and the legend Bozz Scaggs. The album is due for release shortly.
Graham previously performed at Blues on Broadbeach playing Harmonica with Kevin Borich and Harry Brus. For many years he played and was a dear friend of the Late Wiley Reed. Graham is the Driving Force behind the "Ugly Session Band”.
The most recent addition to the 'Ugly Session Band' is young guitar virtuoso Jai Tennant. This has given the band a new vibrant sound.
