An instant rock classic, “Shadow By The Sun” will imbed itself into your ears; from the blistering riffs to the surf rock- indebted singalong chorus, this is a song that will have you humming along from the first listen. After a riotous 2015 shredding stages and fingers alike, 2016 is poised to be another big year for Former Angels. Their first year of existence saw the band whip crowds into frenzies across their hometown of Brisbane, and gigs across the Gold Coast, Lismore, Byron Bay, Newcastle and Sydney spread theFormer Angels classic rock gospel to hordes of new fans (including slots supporting THE LAZYS, THE STRUMS and pub rock legends THE RADIATORS). The band’s debut single “Far Away Star” garnered acclaim as it came in at number 14 on Emerging Indie Bands’ end-of-year best-of list, as well as features on Hhhhappy and DoYouLikeMusic (as Single of the Day). The single also saw strong airplay across Australian community radio such as 4ZZZ, and success further afield spending four weeks in the IndieXL charts in the Netherlands.

To spread the warmth of the Brisbane summer, the “Shadow By The Sun” tour will see Former Angels play their modern take on a high-energy, no-holds-barred classic rock’n’roll gig at seven shows along the East Coast. Their most comprehensive tour, has the band hitting up Toowoomba, Broadbeach, Melbourne, Bendigo and Sydney before finishing with a homecoming celebration at Brisbane’s The Brightside on 10 June. In anticipation of the upcoming tour and single release, the band have shared their version of live favourite, a cover of Stevie Wright’s 1974 Australian classic ‘Evie’.
