Tequila Mockingbyrd have restored my faith in Australian Music. Just when I thought the International Recording Companies had stifled Australian Talent beyond repair,..... I'm hit in the face by an all Female Trio from Melbourne that says, "Wake Up Fool!!!"
I love these girls, they are; Estelle Artois - Guitar/ Jess Riley - Bass/ Josie O'Toole - Drums.
The thing I love about them most is, they are Musician's/ Singers and Song writers, not producers or loop artists. They are skilled artists!
Another love is they are also in the "zone", enjoying every song! (You can tell they like playing together) Their "zone" captures the audience as well, so it's almost obligitory to dance along with them.
It's been said they sound a bit like The Living End, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, AC/DC, Blink-182, and GreenDay. I think that does them a diservice, they are unique. True Josie's drum's are pounding, and Jess' Bass is thumping but there is much more to them than that. They are one tight outfit!
The Choral Harmonies are flawless, Estelle's Voice is sassy and almost Chrissie Hyndeish. However, Estelle has that vibrato in her voice that she hit's every now and again, sending shivers down your spine. It's one of those moments you wait for at their gigs.
Currently the T-Byrd's are in the Studio polishing off their first Album. Later in the year they will be attacking Europe. I can see nothing but success in the future for these Girls, they are Fun, Fantastic and Absoulutely Fabulous. T-Byrd's Are Go!!!!

Having started off the year at a lightning pace, Melbourne's three piece party-byrds are now releasing the latest track and video clip off their forthcoming album. With an infectious chorus and punk-like swagger, the clip for 'Everyone Down' was filmed and produced by Dani Nolan of Clear Reel. It features the Byrds in their natural habitat: bringing fire to the stage and consequently smoking out GM Sound Studios - where the girls spend a lot of their time at their weekly rehearsals.
Over the past twelve months Tequila Mockingbyrd have toured nationally twice, launched their debut EP 'T-Byrds are Go!' which received great reviews (below), released their debut video clip for the single Money Tree (which can be viewed here), and were featured on CNN International.
